Trump falls behind Cruz in latest NBC/WSJ poll...

i am sure Garud can link you up to some of his comments stating Trump would fade... I mean we haven't seen 1000 threads started by him about how Trump is the choice of Reps...

I, like almost everyone else, have thought he would fade.. its only recently that I have been questioning that assumption.

Exactly. They'll be zero of those posts as he hasn't claimed it once. In fact he's claimed it the same number of times he talked about the democratic primary. ZERO

You don't think I ever posted that I thought Trump would fade? I don't know for sure, but I suspect I have posted that.

I used to hope he would fade, but at some point I decided the damage he was doing to the Republican brand was worth the small risk that he would get elected. I also think he would be better than Ted Cruz. I guess deep down I still think Trump will fade. At this point the question becomes, will it be too late, the point where a Trump fade will affect the race is approaching. Trump will very likely still win South Carolina and he still does very well in the "SEC" states. If he gets a majority of delegates, how do they not give him the nomination at the convention?

January 9, 2016... Second post....

"...I still doubt he (Trump) will be the nominee."

You should reevaluate your beliefs about me, I know what I post makes you uncomfortable, but defenses blind you to the truth.

cruz cheated

he lied

ask your only black candidate

Actually in my opinion Carson is the one being dishonest about that situation. He announced he was going back home which then CNN reported on and Cruz then mentioned CNN's tweet. Even if Carson wouldn't have said he was going back home and none of this ever happened it wouldn't have affected where he ended up in votes anyway. The NH primary pretty much proved that and his current polls indicate that as well. In response to him being the only black candidate for the GOP I would ask how many black or Hispanic or Indian candidates were running this time for the democrats?

Carson did NOT say he was dropping out

it was a flat out lie

Carson called the cruz people immediately and told him to correct the record

The Cruz people refused to correct the record

cruze is evil

El Oh F'ing El. God complex huh?

You are the one making claims about me that are patently false and SO easy to debunk.

I treat you with respect, I discuss and debate with real facts and data and ideas...
You will trade insults with Desh all day, but love to make random comments about me being a hack while trying to ignore me.

What should I conclude ?

Cruz clearly lied about Carson in an attempt at attaining an advantage in Iowa.

Some people respect that type of win at all costs in a presidential candidate.

Except Cruz would have won Iowa regardless. When a candidate that is clearly losing says that he is going to fly back to his home state that typically means he is going to suspend his campaign. Christie did the same exact thing after NH. In my opinion the only reason Carson didn't drop out, like he was probably going to do, is because he saw a way to try and revive his campaign by attacking Cruz and also when Trump got on his side knowing that Trump is popular. All indications, which even CNN tweeted about, leads towards Carson ending his campaign, but when he saw the opening he made up the excuse that he was flying back to Florida to get clean clothes.
