Iran Relentlessly Ghosts Trump as He Scrambles for a Way Out

Donald Trump has been left waiting by the phone in his attempts to bring an end to the deeply unpopular war in Iran.

“In recent days, the United States has sent Iran a list of broad points that they wanted them to agree to in advance of the next round of talks,” CNN’s Kaitlin Collins said Tuesday night, citing sources with knowledge of the situation.

“But days went by without getting a response, raising questions and suspicions about whether or not much could be achieved in person,” she added.

The White House had embarked on a frantic scramble to prepare for negotiations with Iranian officials ahead of the two-week ceasefire ending on Tuesday night.

Vice President JD Vance spent much of the day waiting to depart for the talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, only for Iran to pull out at the last minute.

The most remarkable thing is that after Trump made all those threats of bombing Iran into the stone ages, then he just unilaterally extended the ceasefire indefinitely even though Iran made no meaningful concessions or even agreed to meet for talks.
Blockades are acts of war...there is no ceasefire.

They are winning, why would they negotiate?

The "ceasefire" isn't really a ceasefire. Bullets are still flying.

Any bets Iran is enjoying watching Trump roll around in a mud pit of his own making? LOL

The Iranians turned up in Pakistan with 70 people, they bought the story that the Demonic Empire is desperate for an off ramp and ready to talk....they showed up with the documents and the experts with which to make a deal.

NOPE

We have no trust at all in the promises of Americans. They are betrayers who consistently fail to honor their commitments.
Coming back from Pakistan the 70 Iranians were fearful that the Demonic Empire would shoot them down given our behavior in Islamabad and other past performance....they landed and took trains.
