Over and over again Trump confesses to these crimes and then falsely says that what he did was not illegal. Does he honestly believe that by saying those things it makes it true that it’s not illegal?

He engages in magical thinking, as do most of his MAGATs, and a number of others on this forum as well. The belief that if you keep repeating the same lies over and over, they become true is pervasive among the chronically-deluded.

The creepy thing is that, at least among the dupes, it works.

I guess the weak minded are easily duped into believing a non-reality, but it seems very silly to me.

I dont think it works on the serious people at the Department of Justice.

Don't think it will work on whatever jury they get, either. Do you think the DOJ will try to recuse Cannon?

I dont know, but not if she behaves. She might be desperate to reestablish a reputation as she was chastised so badly last time.

Jack Smith is intelligent and experienced. He'll know how to handle her in order to get all the evidence presented. It could be to the prosecution's advantage to keep her, as she has a well-known Trump bias. That could shut down the MAGATs crying about "unfair" and "prejudiced judge." *Could,* not won't.

I don’t think Smith will, it would cause delays. I think he will be prepared to take it to the 11th circuit if she disagrees with any of his rulings.

Are you kidding, the very first ruling she makes that is perceived as against Trump.. they will hate her.

Judges are overruled all the time during appeals so that is no reason to remove an assigned judge

And if the democrats try to stack the court against Trump that would be disastrous for them

By the way there is no such thing as an independent voter

To be an independent would require a person to have no opinion on any issue

Do you mean the jury? Voir dire will sort that out. BTW, didn't you just claim that "voters don't run the court case"? So how would the make up of the jury be "disastrous" for (D)s? It won't.
