I never saw Obama commuting the sentence of a person who took an office of trust and abused it, because they were old friends, and belittle bribery by public officials in the process.

I disagree with all 3 of the pardons/sentence commutations that Trump made recently, but then again, I think pardoning is something that should be more limited in scope in general.

It's one of the easiest privileges of the president and governor to abuse. Most presidents have abused it as have many governors.
