You (or Mr. Owl) have thought things out well.

COBRA last for 18 months, and Medicare does not start until age 65. This leaves a lot of people in trouble if they retire(or lose their jobs) early. Everyone without insurance qualifies for ACA, but if you have under 400% the poverty rate in income, they will give you a bit of a subsidy, which really helps a lot of people. For a family of 2, that is currently $84.6k.

It makes a lot of sense to preserve as much of your investments when you initially retire. Some people start spending like crazy when they retire, and that often ends badly.

yes, we had that gap between the end of COBRA and the start of Medicare for me, and then him later. You're right about the income level. We got a small subsidy and the insurance wasn't much more than what we were paying for the COBRA.

One of the big things ACA does is allow you to buy insurance. There are a lot of people who are overjoyed to pay full price, no subsidies, and at least be able to just buy the insurance.

The reason that trump has not been able to completely repeal ACA is that it has helped so many people that they would rebel if he did.

This is some super sick shit that you and NHB/6/Reaper/ "whatever she goes by depending on what days her period falls on" are in to lately. VERY unwise people who seem to not understand how things like this actually work. Basically you two IDIOTS are practically BEGGING for misfortune to come crashing down on your heads. And it will,....that's just how these things go. Smarten up and use your heads while you still have a chance. Or is it that you are both so miserable that you actually WANT to be put out of your misery? Who knows,.....just saying that what you are up to of late is not very rational . To say the least.
