Trump claims he can't be bought

Trump issued his most recent estimation of his own worth last summer: In June, he waved a one-page summary of his finances over his head at a press conference, claiming to have been worth $8.7 billion a year earlier.

In July, he filed a 92-page personal financial disclosure that his net worth was actually more than $10 billion. (He valued his personal brand at $3.3 billion.)

Later that month, taking into account both documents—neither of which carried an accountant’s signature—Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index concluded that that Trump’s net worth was slightly less than $3 billion.

That was before Fortune’s Shawn Tully determined in March that the press release accompanying the lengthy filing had misrepresented $362 million in revenue as $362 million in profit.

Bernie's got $27 donors (average)..
that doesn't buy much. :)

Here's a new movie ( disclaimer these are notoriously unreliable) ..

Clinton Cash has been lauded by top progressives for its exposure of crony capitalism and self-enrichment. Jeffrey D. Sachs, Columbia University Earth Institute Director, called it “compelling reading on how Bill and Hillary have mixed personal wealth, power, and influence peddling.” Daily Beast columnist Eleanor Clift calls Schweizer “an equal-opportunity investigator, snaring Republicans as well as Democrats.” And Demos Senior Fellow Nomi Prins says Clinton Cash “provides a damning portrait of elite and circumspect power and influence.”

Bated breath - not "baited"

Shylock:
Go to then, you come to me, and you say,
"Shylock, we would have moneys," you say so. . . .
Shall I bend low and in a bondman's key,
With bated breath and whisp'ring humbleness

The earliest known citation of the phrase is from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, 1596:

Then most donors can't afford Trump lol?

Adelson can, lol.

The casino magnate Sheldon G. Adelson told Donald J. Trump in a private meeting last week that he was willing to contribute more to help elect him than he has to any previous campaign, a sum that could exceed $100 million, according to two Republicans with direct knowledge of Mr. Adelson’s commitment.

As significant, Mr. Adelson, a billionaire based in Las Vegas, has decided that he will significantly scale back his giving to congressional Republicans and direct most of his contributions to groups dedicated to Mr. Trump’s campaign.

Trump and Adelson met last week; the candidate said he’s “dedicated to protecting Israel’s security,” and Adelson agreed soon after to spent as much as $100 million to make the former reality-show host the president of the United States.

The punch-line, however, is something Trump said on Twitter in October: “Sheldon Adelson is looking to give big dollars to Marco Rubio because he feels he can mold him into his perfect little puppet.”

Reporter have spent almost 30 years trying to discover Trump's net worth. How curious. What's he trying to hide?

"As he never fails to remind us, Trump’s appeal to voters hinges largely upon the idea that he is so wealthy that he is insulated from the influence of lobbyists and donors and those who seek to sway him. He even put it on a pin: “I love America, I love freedom, and I cannot be bought.”

In January, Trump assured voters that everything was in order: “I have very big returns, as you know, and I have everything all approved and very beautiful and we’ll be working that over in the next period of time.” While there may be no good explanation for Trump not to release his returns, there is certainly an explanation—and it is probably that he simply doesn’t want anyone to see them. And why not? Maybe because they’re not as big or beautiful as he’s led everyone to believe.

Reporters have spent the better part of three decades trying to pin down precisely how much Donald Trump is worth.

In 2006, Trump sued New York Times reporter Tim O’Brien, the author of the book TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald. A year earlier, Trump had claimed he was worth “five to six billion” dollars; O’Brien wrote that that number was probably somewhere between $150 million and $250 million. Trump’s tax returns were entered into evidence in the course of litigation, but they were filed under seal. In one deposition, Trump told O’Brien’s attorneys that his assessment of his own value was largely guided by “feelings,” both others’ and his own. “Yes, even my own feelings as to where the world is, where the world is going, and that can change rapidly from day to day,” he said...

This is a fail. Who cares about this fluff? It's another strategy that doesn't excuse the fact that Hillary got and is getting millions from Wall Street to finance her whole campaign.

Well Hillary's doing it and so is Trump .. nana na.. na..na na. You sound childish and humorous.

We Trump supporters know that he financed his entire primary campaign with 0 super pacs and now he'll need contributions in the millions for the general campaign. Ed Rollins is leading a Trump super pac.

This is a fail.
