Can you really hear what you want to hear? that is quite a talent. Vance was over the line telling a lie that was going to hurt people. That lie was confronted. You are self-delusional or lying. He lied his ass off until he crossed a line they could not permit because that are supposed to have news integrity. Vance's reaction was revealing. He said "I thought there would be no fact checking". It tells you he thought he could lie with impunity and he was.

The second moderators in a debate inject themselves into the debate, regardless of what one of the debaters says, they make themselves part of the debate rather than moderators. That means they are now taking sides in the debate rather than being impartial and there to keep things moving.
That Vance pointed out their 'fact checking' was great. He showed them to be injecting themselves into the debate. If Vance lied, it isn't the job of the moderators during the debate to point it out. His opponent can, others can afterwards, as can those watching and posting real-time. The moderators should stay completely neutral and not get involved.

Well seeing it has been a presidential election tradition for over fifty years now that both candidates appear, kinda like candidates releasing their income tax returns, but if that isn’t enough, because nearly nine million Americans watch the show, and many of those are the independent voters you don’t get on Fox

I know it is foreign to you and your fellow cultist, but fact checking is a common occurrence in any real interview, and Vance knew ahead of time that any outrageous lie would be corrected, in fact, his whole not expecting to be fact checked schtick was surely orchestrated ahead of time, he had his talking point ready

They look of him refusing to appear, just like turning down a second debate, can’t be good, but you are probably correct, the possibility of him coming across as anything but a lying angry bafoon probably weighed in his decision
