I understand what you're trying to do, but you're really comparing superficial things. For example, IMO, both are white. Means nothing. Your points in comparison in the OP are really superficial. Lincoln didn't go around trash talking his opponents or the former president. He understood he had opposition to his ideals and he worked hard to find common ground. He didn't write the local yellow rag and say: Sad! He worked with people, not against people.
