Trump and his enablers unwittingly offer Democrats their best hope in the midterms

Historically, the Democratic Party has dominated Virginia politics. Since the 1851 Virginia gubernatorial election, the first gubernatorial election in Virginia in which the governor was elected by direct popular vote, 34 Virginia Governors have been Democrats.

No more.
 
There's something building out there. I think Republicans in general have miscalculated.

It's a mid-term, so the party out of power usually picks up seats. But the economy is starting to come out of its slumber in a big way, COVID could effectively be done by summer, and the stuff that's coming out of the 1/6 investigation is jaw-dropping.

It would be funny if the Dems actually picked up a seat or 2, or held the status quo.

You may be surprised how many vaccinations children under 5 are required to take before they can enter the public school system already, so vaccinating children under 5 from horrible illness is pretty much a standard already.

These are just the minimum requirements here in Texas- For K - 6th grade: 5 doses of diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine; 1 dose must have been received on or after the 4th birthday. However, 4 doses meet the requirement if the 4th dose was received on or after the 4th birthday. For students aged 7 years and older, 3 doses meet the requirement if 1 dose was received on or after the 4th birthday.

In a welcome turn of events, a new plan to “Trump proof” the 2024 election is advancing in Congress. Surprisingly, it appears to have some Republican support.

And Donald Trump is in a fury over it.

The plan in question concerns reform of the Electoral Count Act of 1887, which governs how Congress counts electoral votes. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) has introduced an ECA reform bill, and a bipartisan group of senators is negotiating another version.

Since this was a Thread about 'Midterms', I'm thinking about this with 'getting Votes' as my central thesis. IMO, the Dems could probably get MORE Votes by not endorsing a '5 and under Mandate' to get the Vaccine. This has turned into a political issue.

I totally understand your concern for the midterm outcome.

All I am trying to do- is remind us all about what is REALITY and what may just be political or ignorant POLITICAL DECEPTION.

What is already normal! What is already expected! In hopes that people will know WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO in terms of vaccinating our children!

I do know this, We may be damned for doing it by some- BUT WE WILL SURELY BE DAMNED IF WE DON'T!

Please forgive me for my most pragmatic approach to helping others get through this dilemma of should we- or should we not vaccinate children!

They have lost touch with the American people.
