Trump admin was ready to deploy National Guard on Jan 6, Capitol Police timeline show

Within 24-hours of the new assessment’s circulation, then-chief of the Capitol Police Steve Sund changed course and began requesting permission to deploy National Guard troops from the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms – both of whom report to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, respectively.

Despite the FBI warning of potential for serious disturbance, no perimeter was established, no agents put on the street, and no fence put up.
Furthermore, as word began circulating around Washington of the Capitol Police’s changing stance on the need for National Guard troops on Jan. 6, Democratic Mayor for the District of Columbia, Muriel Bowser, wrote a letter to Miller and other Departments of Defense and Justice officials asking that National Guard troops not be deployed unless the local Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) approved.
 
Why did Trump provide verbal fuel to ignite the Jan 6 riot, of which he did publicly, with his fight like hell comment?????????????????????????
 
What is the point in all of this? That Pelosi caused the invasion of the Capitol? That it is her fault all the police were assault and injured? If it wasn’t for Pelosi none of this would have happened? The angry mob wouldn’t have attacked, the militant groups wouldn’t have conspired? What is the point?

It’s ridiculous, if Trump had wanted the National Guard at the Capitol, Nancy Pelosi could not have overruled it. There would have been Nat’l Guard at the Capitol.

The Capitol Police hearings were clear they asked "leadership" ( Pelosi/Schumer) for authorization numerous times and never got it till late in the day of the 6th

The governor of the state can call out the National Guard for law enforcement. In the case of DC, The President acts as the governor, and can call out the National Guard for law enforcement. trump used the National Guard to seize St. John's Church just 7 months beforehand. He did not need anyone's permission either time.

The Senate Sergeant at Arms would control who entered the chamber, but the National Guard could do a lot of enforcement without entering the chamber. The Senate Majority Leader at the time was neither Pelosi nor Schumer, but rather McConnell. The Senate President was Pence. They are the two who would be immediately asked by the Senate Sergeant at Arms, not the Minority Leader, and someone not even in that body.
