This current case is not related to any previous ones against Harvard other than that Harvard is the defendant or plaintiff.

Clause, and the Administrative Procedure Act.

The Government’s actions flout not just the First Amendment, but also federal laws

Similar defendants with multiple government agencies and both cases are first amendment claims. They are clearly related.

The administration has the right to control immigration. Remember when Texas tried to control our border . The Biden administration said only the Federal government could control immigration. Trump will eventually win. Meanwhile if you were a foreign student would you want to gamble that Harvard will win ? Nope

Courts assign such cases to make it easier for the parties as well as the judge.

It seems you are confusing education with immigration. This has almost nothing to do with immigration since it is not about revoking any person's F-1 or J-1 visa. All students keep their visas and could transfer to other US universities.

Perhaps you could try to explain how this action controls immigration since you think it is about immigration.

Trump doesn't want students harassed. Harvard isn't protecting their students so Trump says you can't immigrate to Harvard because they allow a dangerous situation for students. If Harvard was committed to a safe environment for foreign students Trump would allow foreign student to come there. Regardless it is the Administration right and authority to control who come into and out of the United States not Harvard. If Harvard wants the could offer remote learning for foreign students and they can stay in the own countries.

It appears to be far more a matter of Harvard allowing students, faculty, and others onto their campus, who are foreign nationals, not US citizens, in official or authorized roles who have to one degree or another, either directly or by close association, expressed regularly political or other opinions, positions, views, and the like, that are aligned against US interests directly. Harvard's administration claims this their right to do and that Trump, and his administration / the federal government, have no legal right to tell them they can't.

Clearly, any US President, their administration, and the federal government do have a legal right to limit who they allow into the US for whatever reason.
