Yes I understand that very well but seriously how many people does this actually affect? To my mind, the metaphor "making a mountain out of a molehill" comes to mind. In cognitive psychology, this form of distortion is called magnification.

The past has shown us that this can be the case. It was not too long ago that women were not allowed to vote or own property in some states. People that reason see that minorities have rights, too, not just white men.

It depends on the issue, and some overlap. For example if Trump required Muslims to register in a database that would be religious and ethnic discrimination.

Surely you have issues like this in the UK, don't you?

I started this thread recently and predictably it garnered little interest. Trevor Phillips has impeccable PC credentials and latterly realised that many Muslims in the UK are totally disinterested in integration. It is a pity that you can't see the Channel 4 programme, it is a real eye opener.
