Amtrak now outside of the NEC.....which is far from great....now move slower on average than did the steam engine trains of the 1930's.

Amtraks latest insult....Only first class is allowed to use the dining car, coach only gets to use the snack outlet in the lounge car.

It's a damn shame this country does not have a high speed rail system?!! All those tax cuts for the rich, would have help build one and the rich and business paying their fair share of taxes too?!!

Just think about how awesome HSR overnite trains could be between big cities....with sleeping compartments of course....depending on the distance maybe a diner and a bar car.

I should point out that the Germans long ago expected overnight trains to go away, but I was reading that they have stayed popular. There is reason to wonder if overnite HSR trains in America would work.

That is not true, you can use the dining car if you ride coach, but you must pay for your meal, while first class, the meal is included in your fare.

One of the best, if not the best, is Changi airport in Singapore.
