Tough times for Desh

One of these days, when I have time, I'll describe what freedom is to me. I'll bet it's different from what a lot of you think of when you think of freedom. People are different ... their views are different. We're not made from cookie cutters. Heading to church now, though.

We know what freedom is for you - to be able to insult and lynch people in the good ole way. Or aren't you a Republican?

I haven't lynched anyone in over 30 years...what are you talking about?

Where I live I have certain freedoms. I can buy a piece of land relatively cheaply...maybe $2000 an acre for good level ground or about $500-$750 for mountain land. I can build whatever I want to on that land. I can hire the work out or do it myself. Being a teacher I get 2 months off so 10 years ago I added 1000 sq ft onto our existing house. I did most of the work myself. I didn't have to meet any neighborhood or municipal codes, though I understand people's desire to live where there are standards. I'd love to buy my neighbor's place, doze everything and make it into a catfish pond, and I may one day. I can step out my back door and hunt as long as I comply with the game laws...same with fishing, and complying with the law, while restrictive to some, is still freedom to me. I can raise a garden...or not. I can worship however I desire no matter how stupid it is to some folks. I can buy a hunting rifle, and if I don't like it can trade it to my brother for an AR-15 (I don't have one but like to shoot them). With my vote I can voice my opinion of just how restrictive I want laws concerning firearms to be. I can drive across several states and enjoy God's creation if I have the means to. I'm in a cabin in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee right now and plan to drive over into North Carolina later today. There are lots of things I am able to do because of what I consider to be freedom. My limitations are based largely on myself and how hard I want to work in life. While there are laws to which I must comply, I can think of no freer place nor better place to live in the world.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to add that I'm not a republican though I did vote for one...ONE...in this last election.

Trump got elected because of all this political correctness about good old American customs like lynching and racial abuse, as you know. As we know, all free Americans must be armed like Sicilian bandits - otherwide anyone living in a wilderness is just as free, and just as limited in his aims and ideas. What sort of a weirdo gets pleasure from killing things, for God's sake? We leave that sort of crap largely to the moronic aristocracy.
