WASHINGTON — A leading Republican lawmaker is calling for investigations into alleged Russian cyberhacks during the US election despite President-elect Donald Trump’s repeated calls for warmer ties with Moscow.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican and one of the chamber’s most experienced foreign policy hands, said the attempt by a foreign country to interfere with the US voting process needs better understanding and a vigorous response.
“Assuming for a moment that we do believe that the Russian government was controlling outside organizations that hacked into our election, they should be punished,” Graham told reporters Tuesday. Referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Graham added that, “Putin should be punished.”
Graham, who wants the hearings to examine all Russia’s “misadventures throughout the world,” has the support of colleagues on both sides of the aisle. As other Republicans issued warnings about Russian activities, the hearings could become a source of tension between the GOP and the new President.
“You could see, going forward, a Congress that’s really at loggerheads with the White House on policy toward Russia,” said Angela Stent, director of the Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies at Georgetown University.
Graham, who ran against Trump in the Republican primaries, admitted that “clearly Donald and me have issues.” But he added that he’ll do “everything I can to help him because he will be commander in chief in dangerous times.”
Russia, Graham said, is a “bad actor.”
To that end, Graham said hearings into Russia’s activities should also address Moscow’s annexation of Crimea and interference in Ukraine, its cyberattacks against US allies, and examine whether Russia is guilty of war crimes due to its intervention and bombing campaign in Syria.

First californian and now Oregon is talking secession. Clearly they want this nation torn asunder. And now we have prominent Democrats calling for the end to the electoral college which in Desh parlance means they hate the founders. So liberals are hating the founders and wanting to tear this nation asunder.

We may all argue and fight a lot but we are a family here at JPP and are here to support each other. Let us know if we can help you in any way get through this most confusing and difficult of times.

I think you guys may be confused. Trump, republicans, and everybody who voted for him are on the hot seat, not democrats, and certainly not Desh.

AND, they're on the hot spot with no boundaries or borders how anyone criticizes Trump, his family and kids .. or his slut wife.

How long have republican Texans been talking about secession? Probably since the Alamo. Never heard that it meant the nation would be torn apart.

By the time the election votes are fully counted, Clinton, who is already ahead by more than one million votes, might win the popular vote by 2 miilion. That doesn't Clinton wins .. it means Trump doesn't have a mandate, and there are an awful lot of people .. a majority of Americans who voted .. who can't wait to see Trump fail.

Desh might actually enjoy the view better from here. :0)

Much respect for you brother.

You said the founders were liberals. Why would they support that?

There is no denying that the Founders were liberals .. but they stayed away from issues that they deemed would be settled outside of the Constitution .. like slavery, and the rights of women.

To Mott's point it's bad form to troll Desh so that's my bad. You haven't posted much on this board recently so you wouldn't be aware of the comments Desh has made and why I started this thread. It was to rile her up so bad form on my part.

.. or his slut wife.

Speaking of "the rights of women"............Be careful. I don't know if you're married or not. Karma is a 2-way street. Is this the way you would want your wife described if she had intimate relationships prior to marriage with you or anybody else?

Or are you a liberal who believes a woman has the right to do anything she wants with her own body without shame, guilt or apology? If that's the case, what's the beef?

It's one or the other, can't have it both ways.

:0) I like you both .. don't like watching friends fight.

If she upsets you, just dial me up and slap me upside the head a couple of times and you'll feel better. :0)

Question: Did you intervene when your pals on the right were attacking Michelle Obama?

Can you direct me to any post from you that does that?

If you didn't, and you can't .. then surely you must know that there is nothing you can say on this subject that would make the slightest bit of sense.

This is the season defined by republicans .. and they are about to eat a healthy does of their own medicine. :0)

I personally haven't seen personal sexist remarks regarding her, there are a lot of threads and posts here and I'm sure I've missed quite a few.

The post regarding Michelle I chimed in on was the government lunch stuff, but nothing personal.

If you didn't, and you can't .. then surely you must know that there is nothing you can say on this subject that would make the slightest bit of sense.
Can't comment on words I haven't read. And, if you mean that someone else's wrong makes your wrong OK, then I disagree.

This is the season defined by republicans .. and they are about to eat a healthy does of their own medicine. :0)
This has nothing to do with generalities of Reps or Dems. Read what I wrote again. I was directly questioning your stance on how you would react to a derogatory remark directed at your wife.

Again, it's one or the other, can't have it both ways.

does she in fact have public naked pictures for which she took money

I'm sure you took part in viewing them, no? So, you're just as guilty. Put your stone back on the ground.

So yeah, but most of us women have done it for free at some point with the man in our life. What's the difference? Doing in public for money in my opinion and in the eyes of God is wrong. Are we irredeemable? No. God is merciful and grants forgiveness to those who repent and turn away from sin. Was her behavior in the past? Yes. Is she still doing it? No.

how would you treat a dems wife with the same

Sin is an equal opportunity employer. All of us have worked for sin at some point and in mannnnny different ways. I have no interest in persecuting women with a shady past simply for sport. I prefer to deal with men and women in the present.

Interesting, I now advocate slavery. You learn something new everyday I guess.

Spoiler alert: I didn't take women home against their will Desh.
