Too careless w/ this magnificent thing we created

The US recently took out sanctions on the Bank of Dandong, they need to do a lot more of that. Of course the Chinese could bring NK to its knees within weeks, if not days, if they stopped oil exports.

it's a good play. if anything could prod the Chinese into movement that would be it.

I don't think anyone has found the secret yet. I certainly wouldn't look to a socialist society for the answer.

But nor is relatively unfettered capitalism working to solve this problem. You can speak in platitudes about how the poor have a chance to work themselves out of that condition, and many do, but in practice, the gap continues to grow - no matter how many theoretical platitudes you can muster.

I don't rue the wealthy for their money. My main concern is w/ their control of our political system, because of that wealth. You can't deny the reality.

As is with many things in life, the answer is in the mix.

Mixed societies
Mixed economies
Mixed political philosophies.

After thousands of years of civilization man has yet to find a perfect economic system. However there shouldn't be any argument that capitalism is far better at creating wealth than the socialist system.

And no one is arguing for "unfettered" capitalism. Anti-trust laws to prevent and break up monopolies are supported by almost everyone. Holding producers accountable for for the claimed quality of their products is supported by almost everyone. Sufficient product labelling is supported by almost everyone.

Likewise, buying political influence and exceedingly wealthy people influencing the electorate by huge advertising campaigns and funding radical groups should be hated by everyone. Yet the Democrat Party loves George Soros, who does exactly what you should oppose.

Soros is the kind of guy who believes in the zero-sum-gain theory of economics. At least that's how he's created his wealth. He began his career as a Nazi, by confiscating wealth from Jews. He's continued this by currency trading, and has accumulated so much from others that he's been able to influence markets by making giant trades. I don't think he's ever created wealth, simply redistributed it to himself. And he's the darling of the Democrats.

Cruz just introduced an addendum to exclude Congress from this new, awful bill, that should tell you how much it sucks.

typical slime ball act from the guy that caused the closing of the gubment & then bitched @ the park staff for it being closed~ "I'd like to punch him in the face, you know what use to happen to ppl like that, they go out on a stretcher GET UM OUTTA HEA, GETTuM OUTTA HERE"!!!!!

While lil un can't hit the US mainland, yet, he can hit many cities in China, including "Peking".... Is that something Jinping is concerned about..

America was founded on 'the rich should rule' principle.

White, male, rich people.

Not much has changed.

Instead of deflection, why not debate against my point? Is it because you know it to be true lol?
Thus your side supported (in the 18th century) monarchies, slavery as an institution (until the 19th century), and redistribution of wealth (since the 20th century).

I did, IMHO your point is stupid none of us where alive then-we could not have supported it...

Do you really think that is gonna change anything??

It seems more :321::pke::whip: is not going to change things~doing more of the same & expecting a different result??

China must have some very good reasons to stick w/ the kid, not so good reasons to boot him out...

What can be offered to China or even Russia to get rid of him??

NK gets around 80% of its imports via Dandong. So maybe you ought to be a little more circumspect this BBC article will help.

He may be crazy but he's not that crazy.

Lots of leaders go down swinging, fight till very end & would rather die than face their enemies..

Would be nice if someone could talk him into moving back to Switzerland & maybe buy him his own mountain w/ a chalet on top w/ lots of things for him to kill & torture......

But of course giving up gawd like status & your own personal fiefdom would be tough.:dunno:

Well that's not strictly true there are the options to put the squeeze on Chinese banks, sanction any Chinese company that sells dual use technology to North Korea and make sure that China honours its commitments. There are only a handful of companies in Dandong that supply NK with the materials necessary to make those missiles. That armada is also able to monitor missile testing and potentially take them out with an anti-ballistic missile.
Yes...taking economic action makes sense, but that's not what trump did. He's wasting millions in taxpayer money solely to compensate for his impotence. We can monitor/shoot down any missiles from defense systems already in S. Korea. N. Korea just sent up an intercontinental missile. Why didn't we shoot it down if that's the reason for the armada?
