Tom Tomorrow nails it

Yep, that pretty much covers the remaining neobushies. Remember they all suffer from the same mental afflictions.

damo..... are you a regular reader of Tom Tomorrow? YOu really should be....he hits it like that every week.

Oh God that's hysterical. I love this guy, and he's always good, but this one is particularly funny.

And on my old board, we would say the same stuff; he's got to be here! I remember his "fighting Keyboardists" really made me think he had been reading our board. And you know, he's reading some board...or some boards. And I think that the thing is, cons are the same everywhere!

i agree that Lush Rimbaugh helped a lot with the routing of the republicans. He's just so full of himself, he has no concept of when to keep his moth shut....but i'm sure that all the ocntroversy helped keep his ratings up, which may well be more important to him than republican control...........now he can spend his time bashing dems instead of defending bush.

the fairness doctrine blows. it should stay buried. everyone should be allowed to say what they want without having to provide accomodation to anyone else. fairness doctrine is a violation of the first ammendment.

The Fairness Doctrine is a "golden ager" conservative stance created by the conservatives in the Dem Party. They remember the 'golden age' when this thing was there and want a return to it. At least if Anyold is correct in his agressive all Cons are "golden agers" wishing a return to the past it is.

How far would you be willing to go? Would sites like the one that publishes Tom Tomorrow have to have equal time with one about Liberals?

the fairness doctrine also prevented one political party or group from buying the voice of the media.

I don't think internet sites need to be included at this time but mainstream media outlets need to be included.

bullhockey. it's restrictive to speeach overall. it should be ruled unconstitutional if it is relegislated.

Not really. How one reported the story was never covered. Using words like "freedom fighter" instead of "terrorist", etc. can change a face of a story very quickly, but still wouldn't be covered under the doctrine. If all reporters were of one ilk stories leaned, but the other side was never represented. The Fairness doctrine insured a monopoly of the media rather than having choices in channels people were forced to get the lean of the story.

You people just don't realize how much the removal of the fairness doctrine helped the Neocons rise to power.
People by and large are pretty stupid and follow what the idiot box tells them to do.

forced a monopoly of the media ? wow, check out the numbers of media players when the fiarness doctrine was in place vs now.....

Exactly, the monopoly had been broken. When over 80% of reporters lean in a particular direction it is inevitable they write their stories with that lean. Choice of words and semantics can reflect a POV without finding itself restricted under the Fairness Doctrine. Only when directly admitting there were Editorial comments would the equal time be done.

You want to return to the "golden age" when the spin could be called "reporting" and nobody got the other side. I do not.

it'll never happen anyway. oprah and jon stewart are gonna be real pissed if they have to present the conservative side to thier politcs on their shows....along with about 90% of the rest of the shows that support liberal political issues. hollywood's gonn be very unhappy with those restrictions.
