Fresh concerns have been raised about Europe’s ability to protect its frontier after a Telegraph investigation found asylum seekers are managing to enter the Schengen zone undetected and fly on fake ID cards.

Syrian, Iraqi and other nationals are walking across Turkey’s land border with Greece, where they are buying fraudulent documents which have been accepted on commercial flights to western Europe.

By doing so they are getting around a deal the European Union agreed with Turkey to take back all refugees and migrants arriving on Greek shores.

The Telegraph spoke to three Syrians who made it to the Netherlands this way this year, as well as an Iraqi citizen who reached Belgium.

However, Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, admitted the problem was much wider.

Telegraph Premium article..you get the idea.
Dumb assed 4th and 9th could have already done significant national security damage.

Thank gawd for SCOTUS - now if we could get the population wised up. But they won't.

I guarantee you Fake News outlets won't touch this story.. go back to sleep

The supreme court order allows in virtually everyone besides tourists.
it doesn't allow refugees. And tourists are anyone that say they are tourist
( do you think they are gona say they are terrorists?).
The problem is the documentation from Libya/Syria/Sudan/ Somalia has to be suspect

these are barely functioning,or multi government states..their documentation has to be considered dubious.

The problem is the Donald Trump wanted to fulfill a campaign pledge to ethnically cleanse the United States of ethnic minorities he is personally bigoted against. No one who is racist should be allowed to run for office, he should've been prohibited from taking the oath of office on that ground. And his oath of office was illegitimate, he is not president, and citizen Trump needs to be persecuted for trespassing on government property.

no. .no no. He one time said "Muslim ban" during the campaign, but modified it to terrorist states.
Recall Obama used similar logic in identifying these states.

SCOTUS looked at the "plain letter of the law" -not some goofy throwback to campaign rhetoric the 4th and 9th
relied on.
Viva textualism. screw this interpretative look at laws/XO's (living documents in Constitutional interpretations)

Now we find out Trump didn't just have plenary powers here -he had real world concerns verified. (OP)

I am waiting for the proof that you told us anything and that we all disagreed.

I'll be waiting, trump cock gobbler

idiot. the common refrain is the travel ban wasn't really to stop terrorists -it was a "Muslim ban"
Not just you -but our esteemed appellate system was spouting the same nonsense..

Now we find out thru SCOTUS that it WASN'T a religious ban ( a Captain Obvious decision)
but that the DOCUMENTATION could be, and in some cases was, bogus.

I told this group about the Syrian passports - but MSNBC/La Resistance /Fake news kept saying there is no need for a travel ban.

Islamic State can make fake Syrian passports: U.S. report
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-mideast-crisis-usa-passports-idUSKBN0TV02820151212
A U.S. government agency report has warned that Islamic State has the ability to create fake Syrian passports, a federal official confirmed on Friday.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed the contents of a story by CNN on Friday about the report, but declined to provide a copy of the report.

The report says Islamic State has access to Syrian government passport printing machines and blank passports, raising the possibility the travel documents could be faked, CNN reported, citing a law enforcement source. (cnn.it/1Rf6lE1)

The CNN source added that there was also concern that because the militant group had access to biographical and fingerprint data on Syrian citizens, there was also a possibility of identity theft.

ABC News, which first reported the story on Thursday, said the report was released to law enforcement by the Homeland Security Investigations agency last week and raised the possibility that militants could use the documents to travel to the United States.

I'm betting that rather doing the work that the travel ban is supposed to allow for (re-evaluating immigration and travel policy), the Trump admin will sit on their hands and ask for an extension once the time is up. Just like they did for the past 120 days.

He is a lifetime achievement award winning benefactor to the black community. Shame on you for hating those who help the less fortunate.

What terrorist has ever come into the US on a tourist visa?

The White House won a significant victory on the travel ban this week when the Supreme Court allowed much of Trump’s order to be put into place.

Even as that high-profile fight played out, the administration was taking other actions that put teeth into Trump’s extreme vetting efforts.

Last week’s executive order directs the Departments of State and Homeland Security to develop a new implementation plan for visa processing.

The State Department has instructed embassy and consular officials to toughen security screening of visa applicants by identifying “populations warranting increased scrutiny” and instituting mandatory social media checks of people who have been in territory controlled by the Islamic State in Iraq in Syria.

In a March diplomatic cable first reported by Reuters, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the number of visa interviews conducted by each consular official should be limited to a maximum of 120 per day. Tillerson acknowledged the new rule “may cause interview appointment backlogs to rise.”

An official with the State Department said that the latest executive order provides consular services with additional “flexibility” if they determine the need to perform additional security checks on visa applicants, but stressed that the department has always erred on the side of security.

“If applicants are taking more time if we’re doing more security checks, this will give us the time to do that,” the State Department official said. “We always take as much time as needed to make sure every potential traveler doesn’t present a security risk.”

he visa issuance process for foreign travelers has generated controversy ever since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks — when all 19 hijackers entered the U.S. on temporary visas.

The attacks led the State Department to prioritize security over issuing visas efficiently, experts say, resulting in longer waits for nonimmigrant visas and prompting frustrations among the business community and others.

“The Obama EO was a sort of gentle nudge to the State Department” to speed up visa processing, said Edward Alden, an immigration expert at the Council on Foreign Relations. “[The new administration has] gone back to the very hard ‘security trumps all’ position.”

The best thing about the SCOTUS Travel Ban ruling was the smack down of the lower courts. The lower court's decision was utterly bereft of legal reasoning.

I think we may have finally turned the corner of SCOTUS being used as a nine member legislative body in support of progressive causes.

Absolutely. They're now going to be a big-government tool for taking away voting rights, religious liberty, women's choice & equal rights for minorities.

They will also destroy mother earth with climate change, ruin our fun, and make life sad.

What terrorist has ever come into the US on a tourist visa?
none that I know of, and the rules for a VISA now are fairly lenient for ties to existing US citizens/institutions.
I would assume are easier to verify if there are corresponding records or matching names here.

It's designed to keep out pure fraud, unverifyable VISAs, and slow down refugees - that's all it ever was.
But the Trump Derangement folks went haywire with "Muslim ban /religious ban "..
Hawaii is even challenging this one -wanting extended family members in.

we don't get the sheer number of refugees Europe does, or Hillary wanted -where vetting would have been impossible.
It's simply another step in HSecurity - it wouldn't be a big deal except for the Deranged Opposition
