Toddlers Have Already Shot 23 People This Year and It’s Only May?!!

According to a report via the Washington Post, American children aged three and under have shot at least 23 people [3] in 2016 which is a five person increase since last year. In an analysis from October 2015 [4] conducted by reporter Christopher Ingraham, the nation’s toddlers were shooting people at an average rate of one per week. These numbers are most likely on the low side, too. While sometimes it certainly feels like every week [5] brings another story [6] of a child stumbling upon a gun and shooting another person, consider the fact that the stories that get the press are the ones in which the victims suffer grievous harm. That means that toddlers have shot 23 people this year…that we know about.

The rest of the cases didn’t get media attention probably only because no one was seriously injured or killed. Everytown For Gun Safety [7], a pro-gun control group, has discovered at least 77 incidents in 2016 alone where a child 18 years old or under accidentally shot someone. So, where are these incidents taking place? Where in this great nation of ours do children have such easy access to guns? According to the Post,

Georgia is home to the highest number of toddler shootings, with at least eight incidents since January 2015. Texas and Missouri are tied for second place with seven shootings each, while Florida and Michigan are tied for fourth, with six shootings apiece.

Please refrain from making assumptions about the kinds of people that are “letting” this happen and the states where these incidents occur. Toddlers shooting people with guns that they should not have access to isn’t just a result of bad parenting or gun-crazy Southerners whistling Dixie while placing a loaded revolver in the hand of their 3-year old and hoping for the best. Gun control laws vary by state; Georgia and Missouri happen to be pretty lax [8]. Guns do exist in other states like New York, California and other places in this great nation where a gun culture doesn’t really, but the laws are different. This fact combined with the social acceptability of guns and gun culture adds up to an environment where children would indeed have access to guns and therefore would be able to shoot them accidentally.

So, how do we fix this? Gun control laws are one step; checking in with gun owners about the ways they store their guns is another. Treating guns with the seriousness they deserve would be a third. If you have a gun at home, great. I’m not going to take it away from you. But try and keep it away from your kid.

The terrible twos and bloodthirsty threes do not show any remorse. I say we arm the ones, and let them fight it out themselves.

Another "tug" on the heartstring...by a bleeding ass liberal? Those pictures of innocent little children reaching for that evil ass gun...sure says a great deal...no? A great deal about the liberal propagandist who would even think of using children to justify some political end. It's comparable to sending out the wheel chair bound children....and parading them around stage when lobbying to have federally funded Abortion on demand in order to legalize the selling of unborn body parts. The 'poor little crippled children'......:)

Strange indeed. I wonder why there has been no LIBERAL "outcry" to ban the evil that is the american automobile? On average the evil ass car kills over 30 toddlers from HEAT EXHAUSTION each year when their parents leave them unattended in the automobile. Why not ban the car or make it more difficult to purchase one...there must be more laws on the books that regulate the purchase of these evil entities in order to keep them out of the hands of the murdering stupid .001% of all parents.

The reality? Stupid people make stupid mistakes....its a most difficult thing to punish the 99% for the stupidity of the 1%....to some that is...but not to the liberally minded who enjoy punishing the law abiding for the crimes and mis-management of a tool by the STUPID....a tool that has in effect CREATED THIS GREAT NATION from the foundation up.

As I have often said and the many OPINIONS from the left demonstrate...there is no cognition to reason and logic when the left has an IN VOGUE politically correct cause to pursue. Every time one of these stupid laws is legislated....the more FREEDOM is taken from the sane by the insane. 23 deaths by Children....killed by stupidity in relation to the handling and storage of the tool known as a firearm? How does that stat compare to the total number of children and people et.al. killed by THE EVIL CAR? There is no comparison...if LIFE is the real concern, but in reality its a feigned concern to promote a political ideology....just like the false premise that Conservatives are starving American Children to death because of their views concerning Government handouts....when in reality can anyone produce any evidence of CHILDREN starving to death in this nation of plenty over the past 75 years? Where is the evidence...of all those starving children?

The evidence exists in one place in ad hominem manner...between the ears of the fascist liberals just like the false premise that more control and more regulation of fire arms will save the lives of America Citizens...when the laws already existing on the books are never enforced...but MORE MORE MORE seems to be the liberal cry...more laws not to enforce but to selectively use as a political hammer when it suits the need of ALL THE SMART (assed) PEOPLE.

Just what is the difference between ACCIDENTAL DEATHS...regardless of what tool was misused by the stupid? There is none...except the statistical probability of getting killed by a car accident if far greater than that of getting killed by a GUN, either accidental or deliberate.... or any other weapon designed for personal defense or hunting. Why? Because evil exists in the heart of the murderer not in the steel inanimate structure of any tool that can be misused. Evil, just like poverty, cannot be legislated away, if it could there would be no more poverty or crime in this nation, a nation that has more laws per individual than just about any other nation on earth. Laws have effect only on one group of peoples...THE LAW ABIDING.

THE MORE YOU LEGISLATE..THE MORE YOU "DICTATE". EDUCATE before you "KNEE JERK" LEGISLATE/DICTATE.
