Alligators will often drown prey that is too large to swallow in one bite, then store it somewhere under water so that it will rot, making it more manageable to feed on when it returns.

If you don't know how alligators approach their diet, or you don't give a crap enough to know what the hell you're talking about, don't comment on it.

But we do know that Disney didn't feel it necessary to warn about the danger of alligators, why not?

so not only did the kid die and the gator not get their food we also deprived the gator of its stash of baby meat ? :/ This entire episode is so wasteful.

Someone should call PETA.

Man, why the fuck does there always have to be someone for you to blame? So you feel like you are safe and protected from unfortunate events. You're not, idiot.


I grew up here. I know gators pretty well. You don't expect a gator to be in an area like that. Especially not one large enough that it would attack a human. If you see a big gator in an area where humans live and play you should have them removed. Trouble is that there are underground rivers connecting these bodies of water so that is not a foolproof precaution and does not offer any real basis to fault Disney.

If you want a good reason to blame Disney then blame them for building that that place on top of a swamp!

There is no way Disney could reasonably be expected to keep out every three foot gator. That's an impossible task. Might as well demand they guarantee that none of their patrons get bitten by mosquitoes and with zika... But a three foot gator is eating frogs not humans. It's not a threat. If they saw a seven footer in there and did nothing more than post no swimming signs then that is certainly negligent. But as I noted, they can't be expected to keep one from traveling into the area with all the underground waterways.

I had not heard about the time of day, but that only makes Disney look worse.

sure. but there should be some kina periodic removals? Maybe there was..
The video of feeding the gators was bad too. from what I understand there are signs "not to feed the wildlife" in the hotels'
but amore stern warning for feeding and wading would have helped.

Shanghai Disney just opened, and the company has been cash starved -this isn't going to help
