To those who don't get Obama...

You missed out.

We may never have a President who inspires us like this again.

Obama speaks to the best of us as Americans. Trump, unfortunately, speaks to the worst of us. There couldn't be a more stark difference.

Even Obama's critics concede he gives a good speech. There's ample reason not to believe a lot of it, but it sounds good.

He speaks honestly and from the heart like Clinton did.

He speaks to the higher instincts of humanity rather than to self interest and greed like Republicans do.

You can say that about any President.

I bet more than one of your former employers has said the same thing about you.

They probably have. But a lot less people care about how I do my job than how the leader of the free world does theirs.

Too bad he wasn't better at his job.

Depends on what you consider the job to be.

All Presidents have failures & successes. But when you can inspire millions, it can change the future. I couldn't help but think of all of the leaders in the decades ahead who will talk about how they first were inspired listening to Obama speak.

Being the first black President hopefully he has inspired children of color to think they can do more. He gets judged on his job performance the same way all other President's get judged.

Every generation has inspiring people. Inspiring people aren't going to end with Obama.

Obama is a toxic, divisive POS who sides with terrorists and cop killing thuglets.

Him gittin' gone will be the most glorious day in American history.

A little over a week until the worst chapter in history closes.

Obama didn't do shit. He may smile good, and speak well, that's about it. Most of his policies were a disaster. He constantly campaigned and chided the GOP, then wondered why they didn't want to work with him. He thought playing nice with our enemies and withdrawing from the world would help us. It didn't.

Obama has been among the most loquacious of our presidents, but can you call to mind from his Niagara of rhetoric a memorable sentence or even phrase? If power is the ability to achieve intended effects, his rhetoric has been powerless to produce anything but an empty, inconsequential reputation for speaking well. -George Will

In reply to the statement in bold, my answer is yes.
President Barack Obama's oft repeated statement, "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it."

That's the only significant thing I can remember him saying in 8 years.
