To Hell With Charlie Kirk

500,000 americans died in 2020 from COVID, more Americans than all of the entirety of WW2. And 100s of 1000s more continued to die in the years following, all because of republicans and their "covid is a hoax" and anti-vax sentiments.

But 1 single podcasting influencer was too much for them... How do I feel about Kirk's death?
Some of Charlie's podcast statements:

There were not a lot of leftys celebrating the assassination. There may be a few. It is a lot fewer than those saying horrible, insulting things about Biden. No one tried to destroy their lives.
There were a lot of Democrats in Congress who voted against honoring a man who was shot and killed and left a widow and two small children behind,

Every Democrat Who Voted Against Charlie Kirk Resolution

2 days ago — While 95 Democrats backed the resolution, 38 Democrats voted "present," 58 voted against the resolution, and 22 did not vote at all. Democratic ...

The generalization right now is so over the top.

I wish we had a # on the vile idiots who celebrated. My guess would be that it's a very small percentage of Democrats, the left & the population. Maybe even less than 1% of the latter.

And yet the right is using "they" in the broadest terms imaginable.
At times you also use "they" in the broadest terms imaginable as well...maybe you don't realize that...
No one should have celebrated or mocked....so any percentage is too much...

I think this reaction to Charlie will likely feed the future reaction of others to left wing (leftreich) "leaders" dying. They'll point back to this time, and say that they learned that nobody needed to be polite any longer and speaking ill of the assassinated and continuing the same language and imagery that led to the violence is copacetic...

Sad really. Though I will not speak poorly of Bill Clinton if my prediction is right and he passes this year... Though we're getting near the end of the year and he seems to be surviving though he looks like a fricking skeleton.
Yes, yes, because if not for this incident the right would be "polite" as they were prior to this incident.

Trump alone, is responsible for this age of outrageous and inflammatory rhetoric that is now considered more the norm than the exception. Trump literally mocks his political opponents and those on the left he sees as enemies who suffer severe harm at the hands of political partisans.

You are such a joke, not to be taken seriously by anybody.

"As a Black man, it hurts my soul to see people call Charlie Kirk a racist. I knew him personally and I can tell you, he was nothing but kind to me. Charlie never looked at me as a color, he looked at me as a friend, as a brother.
He went out of his way to help me, to open doors for me, to make sure I had opportunities I didn’t even ask for. That’s who he was, just generous, thoughtful, and loyal.
To hear people smear his name with lies is painful, because I knew the real Charlie. He wasn’t about division, he was about lifting people up, no matter where they came from or what they looked like.
And honestly, this all still feels unreal. I still cry, It’s hard to accept that he’s gone. A man who gave so much, who inspired so many, taken from us too soon.
Charlie Kirk was more than a leader — he was a friend, a brother, and a true American patriot." Terrance K. Williams

It's more proof the White Nationalists are dividers, not uniters. Sad.

Agreed on Trump as a source for most of this division, hatred and subsequent violence.

I'm someone who loves Jesus Christ & his message. But I have argued w/ Christians for years - mainly online - about some of the teachings of modern Christianity that I feel veer significantly from the message he was trying to convey.

Kirk was a very traditional Christian, which I am not. I have real problems w/ the POV of traditional Christianity. I feel that it has created a lot of isolation and intolerance for the LGBTQ community, which I can almost guarantee Jesus would not support.

But, that's just a disagreement I have. Kirk had Christ in his heart. He didn't approach any of the letters of LGBTQ w/ hostility - just w/ his beliefs and attempts to persuade. I think he was wrong on that issue, but he was a good man and believed what he believed. The interactions I have seen between him and LGBTQ have been gentle & from a place of love and compassion.

"Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest." -- Simon & Garfunkel, The Boxer

Mr. KIrk used his alleged faith to promote not the words of Christ, but his own RW agenda which has little to nothing to do with Jesus. IOW he used the Lord to spread division, distrust, demonization of "the other side." It's only fitting that his chosen party is now using his death to hammer enemies, stifle speech, demonize the Left, and further divide Americans.

There is Beautiful coverage of people coming together to celebrate his legacy.... They expect over
One hundred thousand people from all over the world... They just interviewed someone from Ireland... He was loved and respected by so many...

Hey twatwaddle, Charlie's memorial starts in a few minutes. Glue yourself to the TV and watch all those MAGAT Christians burn and loot AZ.

Agreed. James T. Kirk was a uniter, not a divider like Charlie Kirk.

JAMES T. KIRK:
Your planet is dead! There's nobody alive on Cheron, because of hate. The cause you fought about no longer exists. Give yourselves time to breathe, give up your hate!

Alexander, where I come from, size, shape or color makes no difference. And nobody has the power.
All right. It's instinctive. But the instinct can be fought. We're human beings with the blood of a million savage years on our hands, but we can stop it. We can admit that we're killers, but we're not going to kill today. That's all it takes. Knowing that we won't kill today. Contact Vendikar. I think you'll find that they're just as terrified, appalled, horrified as you are, that they'll do anything to avoid the alternative I've given you. Peace or utter destruction. It's up to you.
