To Evince

Thanks Desh... for once that article was accurate with the profit margin data.

Thanks for proving that the insurance companies profitability has been falling for the past several years.

To add the most recent data, Aetna's current profit margin was 4.98%.... STILL FALLING.

Thanks again Desh for proving they aren't raping us as you earlier claimed.

Managed care company UnitedHealth Group said Thursday its fourth-quarter profit jumped 30 percent on higher premium revenue compared to the final quarter of 2008, when the insurer incurred a hefty legal settlement charge.
(ABC News Photo Illustration)Managed care company UnitedHealth Group Inc. wrapped up 2009 with a third-straight quarterly profit increase, but it starts 2010 still hampered by high unemployment, which hurts its biggest insurance segment.

The Minnetonka, Minn., insurer said Thursday its fourth-quarter profit rose 30 percent, due in part to premium increases and a big legal charge that weighed down results in the last quarter of 2008.

Well, that explains why UnitedHealthGroup, had a 4.1 percent profit margin over the past 12 months.(2009)
I wonder what the number would have been without that 30% increase in the 4th Q.

So whats your point?

READ this desh...

If their profit was $1 and then it went to $1.28.... both just barely being profitable....

they would have your 28% increase.

Now if they made $1T profit and then went to $1.28T

they would also have a 28% increase.

Now answer this DESH....

Do you think the base numbers have meaning?

Pretty clear she doesn't understand base numbers. She just see's a number she believes is high for percentage increase in profits and voila that must mean these companies are ripping offf the public. Can you imagine trying to buy stock using her methods?
