Seriously, if you are going to reference someone and expect to attach any credibility.... Julian Bond is not a good option. He just detracts from whatever point it is you are trying to make. though I can see why you use him. He also refers to any and all Black Republicans as tokens and uncle toms. Because if you don't think like him, you must therefore be a traitor to your race. How dare any black try to have a different opinion.

That said, Alveda and Bernice are both activists against gay marriage. Which would be the antitheses to what MLK stood for.

He stood for equal rights for all. He stood against discrimination.

While MLK was far more conservative than most on the left would credit him, I don't think there is any question on where he stood on the topic of discrimination whether it be race/creed/gender/sexual orientation.

He would not be. He was a Southern Baptist minister.

Martin Luther King entered the Christian ministry and was ordained in February 1948 at the age of nineteen at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia. Following his ordination, he became Assistant Pastor of Ebenezer. Upon completion of his studies at Boston University, he accepted the call of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, Montgomery, Alabama. He was the pastor of Dexter Avenue from September 1954 to November 1959, when he resigned to move to Atlanta to direct the activities of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. From 1960 until his death in 1968, he was co-pastor with his father at Ebenezer Baptist Church and President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

Gay marriage has nothing to do with "equal rights" or "discrimination". Gay marriage is not a civil rights issue.
