Thousands Of Americans Are Fleeing The Big Cities

You should read the thread first before you post.

live your life being defensive about everything if it keeps you happy, but don't include me in it.
I posted my opinion, if you have one of your own that isn't simply defending one single city when the topic is on the broader picture, feel free to post it and I will read it, otherwise I may just gloss over your posts from here on out if you don't mind, you seem rather simple mindedly boring.

Your life has absolutely nothing to do with mine.

You're on a political site .. your opinion, my opinion, and everybody else's opinions get challenged on this site. If you don't like your opinions being challenged .. I'll keep that in mind. :0)

But rural America is and has been in decline for years.

let's not sugar coat why people are leaving big cities.
Crime, and high cost of any housing that a human being would habitate, traffic.
The big cities have always been the bulls eye of drugs and the crime associated with it, but these things have risen to ces pool levels over the last decade.

And most of these cities are run by liberal politicians with access to the legislation and purse strings that could fix this, yet they choose not to.
The left wing of our politics lives off of the poverty and divisive cries that racism is the culprit.
People trying to have a better life, people of all colors are running away.

actually many people have moved back into the big cities over the past decade and crime has a whole has decreased.

I don't know why anyone would choose to live in the south at all; be it urban, suburban, rural, or secluded.
cheap. Maryland was fine until the Dems went nuts with rain taxes and commode taxes (flush tax).

and in florida at least there is no snow and ice

some yes, and some decidedly no.

the 30 largest U.S. cities saw a double-digit increase in their murder rate in 2016, according to a new year-end report, even as crime nationwide remains near all-time lows.

A new study released Tuesday by New York University’s Brennan Center for Justice projects that the 2016 murder rate for the largest U.S. cities is up 14% from 2015 while the violent crime rate rose by 3.3%. The overall crime rate, however, increased by just 0.3%, thanks in large part to historically low levels of property crime, according to the study's authors.

the guy said a decade, you are correct that some cities have seen an increase over the past year

my bad i didn't see the decade..that's a significant increase though.

I notice down here in Orlando the gangs are starting to take over like they do in Miami and the NE

Yeah, I'm not trading my craft beer and single-malt scotch for Budweiser and Southern Comfort, or my split-level home for a mobile one. :D

Infowars wouldn't exactly be my source for City demographics. No question there are some cities that have been hemorrhaging population, there have also been those that are growing; SF, Oakland, LA, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Atlanta etc. Millennials like City living even though they can't afford to buy homes there.
Depends on the city. Urban areas that are not trapped in at least one direction by water have pretty reasonable housing cost compared to those cities which are. Look at housing cost of cities like Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte and Columbus compared to New York, San Francisco, Cleveland or Miami.

Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, and Colombus are also where trash lives.

A big reason people are leaving cities is they are being priced out. Some call it gentrification but it's the market at work.
Except that's not the case. Across the board in the last five years we've seen significant urban growth, little growth in the suburbs and exurbs and declining population in rural, small town locations.

That's based on US Census data and not Infowars.

Baltimore is unlivable.Homicides are spiking up once again..

It's SO BAD the Baltimore Orioles ( who play downtown near the Inner Harbor) are not filling enough seats

There aren't enough jobs in Baltimore. I see plenty of people on the train going to DC, not a lot of people on the train going to Baltimore. The homicide rate is bad but it's not like you're going to get shot if you're not in a gang or something. And DC's homicide rate is pretty much just as bad but it's still growing. That's where the jobs are.

This is the same old stale ghost story of urban decay right-fascists have been telling for decades. No more relevant today than it was then. Fact is that our inner cities have never been so safe since the 50's. Trump is an evil monster who tells ghost stories to idiots living in the boonies to frighten them into staying in their trashy dens with their opiods and killing themselves.

My niece lives in the suburbs of Chicago with her husband and two kids. It's safe there, but I've been told that she's still depressed, and I suspect they both want to come home.

Yeah she wants to go back to nowhere where there's nothing to do besides get high on oxy.
