There are many Republican politicians who, when Trump’s time in office is up, will aver that they stayed quiet (acquiesced) in order to help protect the Republic from his most debilitating instincts or classless acts.
It is my strong opinion that if the safety of freedom in our Republic is dependent upon people like them, it is doomed.
Anyone not actively, energetically opposing Trump at this point is empowering him. None of us ought to give redemption to those doing it no matter what reasoning they will manufacture and hide behind in the future.
