Roberts is trying to keep Roe v. Wade from being overturned. He believes it will work against Republicans, and even the court. He is more than willing to cut it back, but does not want to overturn it. He had gotten some time to get political experts to run over the draft ruling, that had only been circulated to the 5 Justices that agreed with it, and Roberts. Thomas felt that it should just get released... AND THEN IT WAS LEAKED!!! Now it will be practically impossible for Roberts to reverse it.
But Roberts keeps fighting for his side, but behind the scenes. We do not fully know his side of the argument, because it would be considered leaking for deliberation debates to be made public. Meanwhile, Thomas is now openly attacking Roberts, there is no secret in who is leaking this phase of the debate.
Thomas went on and on, but the point was that he does not like Roberts, and that is why he keeps leaking internal information to try to get around Roberts.
