“Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) announced on his podcast Tuesday he is introducing legislation to defund investigations into President Trump led by Special Counsel Jack Smith.”
“Gaetz made the announcement hours after Trump said he’d been notified he is a target of the Justice Department’s investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack and efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results”

Gaetz’s bill wouldn’t go anywhere, McCarthy wouldn’t even let it proceed, but it would be telling to have it all on the official record those elected officials who actually believe that Trump is totally innocent of all charges he is facing, that he is indeed above the law
Certainly just Gaetz is just preaching to the choir but I would hope such a proposal does reach the House floor for a vote
