That is an excellent article and historically accurate for those of us that watched it happen and lived through it....
even though I personally profited from those years....

Clinton never said he was a Democrat. He ran as a "new democrat." He defined his own party and his own philosophy, which was much more closely aligned with moderate Republicans of the 70's and 80's, the era when Clinton came of age politically.

First they try to deny him being a 'true' Democrat

The tragedy is that govt and private sector collusion made it possible for Wall Street and the Banks to exploit this phenomenon and channel all this new middle class wealth into market bubbles that only Wall Street and the Banks could end up profiting from. It wasn't Clinton's policies. It's how they were exploited by Congress and BigBiz.

I notice he had nothing to say about the two useless wars that went along with those "reasonable" tax cuts. A billion a day, not to mention all the bright creative people taken out of the work force.
