This 19th-century philosopher perfectly explained the phenomenon that keeps Trump fan

For if it were accepted as a result of argument, the refutation of the argument might shake the solidity of the conviction; but when it rests solely on feeling, worse it fares in argumentative contest, the more persuaded adherents are that their feeling must have some deeper ground, which the arguments do not reach; and while the feeling remains, it is always throwing up fresh intrenchments of argument to repair any breach made in the old.

astonishing.......his words condemn the very thought process of you lib'rul scum and yet you think he founded your movement.......no doubt if he had known you he would have called for your condemnation........

Yes, but the damage he has done is going to have to be undone and that’s going to take some time. I’m not afraid it can’t be undone, like with Bush, but it seems like just when we get things right in the world, we elect another idiot, like Trump.

we aren't even done undoing Obama's fuck ups yet......

Narcissistic Personality Disorder Symptoms

Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by a long-standing pattern of grandiosity (either in fantasy or actual behavior), an overwhelming need for admiration, and usually a complete lack of empathy toward others.

People with this disorder often believe they are of primary importance in everybody’s life — and to anyone they meet. While this pattern of behavior may be appropriate for a king in 16th century England, it is generally considered inappropriate for most ordinary people today.

People with narcissistic personality disorder often display snobbish, disdainful, or patronizing attitudes. For example, an individual with this disorder may complain about a clumsy waiter’s “rudeness” or “stupidity,” or conclude a medical evaluation with a condescending evaluation of the physician.

In layperson terms, someone with this disorder may be described simply as a “narcissist” or as someone with “narcissism.” Both of these terms generally refer to someone with narcissistic personality disorder.

A personality disorder is an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates from the norm of the individual’s culture.

The pattern is seen in two or more of the following areas: cognition; affect; interpersonal functioning; or impulse control.

The enduring pattern is inflexible and pervasive across a broad range of personal and social situations. It typically leads to significant distress or impairment in social, work or other areas of functioning. The pattern is stable and of long duration, and its onset can be traced back to early adulthood or adolescence.

is that what you feel?.....

His sole legislative achievement of his first two years in office was a massive tax cut for the wealthy, driven largely by the plutocratic impulses of the Republican Party that he campaigned against and which has failed to deliver its proponents’ promises of an economic resurgence. In fact, the stock market, once a point of pride for the president, has entered into a phase of wild volatility that hardly bodes well for the future.

Well, he missed the mark on getting his wall built and repealing Obamacare, but I think the author of this article is not actually tabulating all of Trump's successes.

According to what I have heard from intrepid rightwing bloggers and the president's twitter account, Trump ended the nuclear threat from North Korea.

"There is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea!!" - Donald J. Trump, June 2018
