Its funny that many on the left are opposed to drilling our own oil... because as you said, it transfers jobs that could be in the US overseas AND we lose the ability to control environmental regulations.

Nooooo!! We're not arguing drilling yet. You need to make up a controversy first. The more imaginary the controversy the better. I just used drilling in ANWR as an example.

Since you brought up ANWR again, I think we should drill it along with the rest of our resources in oil and nat gas. It is rather ridiculous to oppose drilling our own oil for environmental reasons.

Great question.

I think they would drill some exploratory wells. And then sit on it. For a couple decades. That would be my guess, knowing what I know about the industry and the oil play up there.

I don't think the oil there is going to be that prolific, or economical to extract. And, as such, it won't be that profitable. They'll focus on drilling only if and when, the profit can be maximized. The multinationals don't waste time and resources on marginally profitable investments.

Well that's interesting LR, the problem is, Bush's statement are a real controversy and not a made up one. This is purely for made up controversies.
