It is very funny to me, enjoyable to me that the Republican House of Representatives, Republican Senate and Republican President cant repeal the increasingly popular Obamacare.

They are going to fail, how will that affect the mid-terms?

Will it help them by allowing them to trick simple Trump voters into somehow believing it is the Democrats fault...

or

Will it result in a disaster for the Republicans delivering Democratic majorities to both houses, resulting in the Democrats attaining the power to conduct reality based investigations?

It would have been worse for them if they actually succeeded in repealing & replacing w/ this fiasco of a plan.

Now, it's up in the air. If Obamacare really is in a "death spiral," as one random guy said & now every Republican parrots, then it's unpredictable. But either way, it's fun to watch Trump & the GOP flounder around like this.

They will do their best to put it in a death spiral. Trump can use his executive authority to try to run it into the ground, but then he would not be delivering on one of his core campaign promises.

would pointing out how badly you want this president to fail make you look very hypocritical????? or would you just tell me 'they did it too'?

I want his lies recognized. I want his maniacal style to be clear and I want such management style exposed as weak and ineffectual. I want humanity to see the folly of such ego.
I want it clear that while nationalism and ethnic patriarchy might give some people short term gains it almost always results in calamity.

Do I want our economy to be stronger, yes. Do I want a better healthcare system, yes. Do I want other ultimate goals the President claims to want, yes.

I want the president to be successful in the ultimate goals that he claims to support, I feel strongly that the method he is going about attaining them is severely flawed.

If Trumpsky and the GOPhers actually managed to "fix" our health care system... and I mean really, actually fix it, meaning creating a system where middle, working and poorer class people could get whatever care they needed without driving themselves into insurmountable debt and losing what little they have, then I would support them.

I would say... "Great job, Mr President and GOP Congress!!! Thank You!!!" :good4u:

And if they backed off of destroying Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, I would retract every negative thing I've ever said about them. Hell, I might even change parties.

But of course, the chances of any of that coming to pass are right around zero.

They did it too .. how are you so unaware of that.

It's called politics in America today.

Hell YES we want the orange asshole to fail .. and fail BADLY.

I am not sure it is the easy given how interwoven it is. Talk to medical professionals, all I've talked to say it is a disaster.

The ACA / Obamacare has more favorable support than unfavorable .. and its support is still rising.

I not only talk to medical professionals about this issue, I'm often on panels with them in support of the ACA. If you'd like, I can post MANY thoughts on this issue from medical professionals who support it.

That being said, many of those professionals know that single-payer is the ultimate goal just as I do. But for now, Obamacare is far better than anything today's republicans can come up with.

Maybe they should review Richard Nixon's health care proposal in 1974.

Republicans May Be Ready To Redefine Success On Obamacare
Call it a win if they manage to pass their repeal-and-replace bill in the House.

WASHINGTON ― With the GOP bill facing opposition from House conservatives, and a dismal Congressional Budget Office score stirring opposition from moderates and the Senate, Republicans seem to be scaling back the goals for their Obamacare repeal-and-replace.

Instead of actually overhauling the Affordable Care Act, Republicans may now just be trying to pass a bill in the House*― with the recognition that the Senate will never agree to a House-passed plan and that rowdy House conservatives may never accept a Senate bill.

“The focus of House leadership has been more about getting a bill out of the House that is unchanged and in keeping with the Better Way plan, instead of truly seeing to potential roadblocks that exist in the House and Senate,” one GOP House member told The Huffington Post on Tuesday.

The lawmaker predicted that Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and the White House would move the bill further to the right in an effort to get reluctant conservatives onboard. Such a move would open up the measure to more moderate objections, with centrist Republicans already expressing discomfort over projections that 24 million people would lose health insurance and provisions that phase out the Medicaid expansion. Still, conservatives have made it clear they won’t support the bill as is, so giving in to demands from the House Freedom Caucus may be the only way forward.

Or there may be no way forward.

Of course democrats will counter that even with republicans in full control, they still couldn't get it done.

Trump seemed to be for single payer, now I don't know. He said he would ensure all americans have coverage.

Trump USED to be for a lot of decent things .. when he was a democrat.

As a republican, he only stands for himself .. which of course is the republican way.

By on panels you mean you are a server at these gatherings. That doesn't make you a participant sambo.

Those of us with a normal or better level of intelligence and more than an ounce of common sense, all saw this coming from the git-go.

No rational person who deals in reality ever thought these bozos ever had a real plan, much less one that they could all agree upon.

If the stupid, greedy, obstructionist power grubbing GOP scumbags had actually cared about improving the lives of the people they work for, they might have adopted a spirit of cooperation with Obama and the Dems, and tried to work with them, offering up some free market ideas as part of a compromise in exchange for their support.

Rather than vowing to block Obama's agenda make him a one term President as their primary goal.

Maybe now we'd have something that was actually working and gradually improving health care access and affordability, rather than this current puddle of runny shit on the floor around their feet, that THEY CREATED.

But then, what else can you expect out of a crowd of assholes, besides a big puddle of shit?
