My father's gun collection hung on the walls of my bedroom when I was young.
The most accurate rifle in my collection was given to me for my 12th. birthday.
I took my .30-06 along so I could go hunting after school, as did many others.
We never shot anyone. Why do kids shoot each other today? Why didn't we?

Correct. The melting pot has been proven to be a failure.
BUT...that's due in large part to the Newt Gingrich philosophy that Republicans cannot win elections unless they create mass hatred and hysteria. trump was clearly the best at that.

Sane people can get along with 'others', and appreciate the benefits gained from other cultures.

It's the daily barrage of propaganda from Washington that causes most of the problems in society

Very similar. Living in depressed neighborhoods creates stress that children should not have to endure. It does indeed cause them to harden, but I'm not sure about 'maturing'.

The privileged children you referenced are thrust into the business world when they're still peeing the bed. They live in luxury, but the effects become apparent much later when they suffer psych issues as adults as a result of being robbed of a childhood.

It's probably worse than growing up in the hood, as those 'kids' are much tougher.

We used to be a nation of rationally and pragmatic thinking people who actually cared about others where politics was about issues- NOT about PEOPLE- NOT about COLOR OF SKIN.

Today, we are a nation in the middle of a political civil war- where you are born as a natural enemy just because you are born to parents of an opposing political party- or you are born to parents of another color.

Politics has become dogmatic- not pragmatic.

Politics has become racial- not rational!

This is called hatred- and unless people are willing to back off of all the hate- THIS NATION IS GOING TO DISRUPT INTO POLITICALLY CHARGED TERRORIST ACTS FROM SHORE TO SHORE, and it will be the news stories of the day- EVERY DAY!

And now that the new Republican slogan is "Go Brandon", you are going to see this carried out in High Schools across the nation as well- DAILY- as students carry out their parents political hatred!!
