There are 3,141 counties in the United States. Trump won 3,084 of them.

It is called representation, take a basic civics course and get back to me.

And that's the system we have, which is fine. But the gov't is still about representing PEOPLE.

I don't get bravs statement of how it's significant that a lot of the popular vote was in NYC. As meaningful as the popular vote is, which I'll allot isn't much, it's still actual people we're talking about. Are the folks in NYC worth a bit less than their midwestern or southern counterparts?

Try explaining it to me. Indulge me. Tell me how that is different from some limo liberal calling middle America "flyover land."

Like I've said, the left really wants the entire middle of the country to have no voice. They disdain anyone who doesn't walk on lock step with their elitist group think.

Show me where anyone, anywhere, ever said that.

Everyone has representatives in Congress. Everyone has Senators. Everyone has local & state representatives. Everyone has a voice in Presidential elections. Where has anyone ever said that those in the middle of the country should be stripped of those things?

There are 3,141 counties in the United States. Trump won 3,084 of them. Clinton won 57

There are 62 counties in New York State. Trump won 46 of them. Clinton won 16.

Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

That is quite an amazing stat...... only the morons with less than a 70 IQ don't understand how significant it is.....

Poor Domer and Poor Thingy

The troll don't even rate a mention.

Maybe we should do our elections by the result of the counties.
Each county gets 1 vote for the elector that wins their county and then just do a total nation wide.
Since 50% would be 1,570.5, then 1,571 would be the winner.
Leave all other elections the way they are now.

I don't believe he is saying that at all. It is merely the corollary to the "she won the popular vote " screeching we have been treated to since she was devastated by defeat.

The OP while interesting is nothing more than a statistical artifact with as much electoral meaning as the popular vote.

That's like calling 900 yards of offense a statistical artifact lol. It may not win the game but it's impressive nonetheless. Much more impressive than the 48.6 to 47.2 split [or whatever it is] in the popular vote.

in short, that is why the electoral college was a compromise.....New York and Virginia want a popular vote......New Hampshire and Georgia wanted an election of 13 votes, one for each colony (state)......

There is the old adage of:
A popular vote is 3 wolves and 2 sheep, voting for what to eat for dinner.
