The world has never been safer....

Bush invaded Iraq.

Clinton did not.

Very good, Charlie Chan.....you're getting to be quite the detective......

Now see if can figure out that Clinton was threatening Saddam with war in that speech.....that could be a little harder for you because to you, war

means ground troops....you probably don't even consider the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor war because no ground troops were involved....

Nope, Clinton talked big but is still the same coward that dodged the draft so long ago....he wouldn't actually attack Saddam for real.....

Poor Thingy.....

Clinton is a coward for not rushing into a reckless war that killed thousands of American troops and threw a region into chaos?

Gotcha.

I bet you think Bush was so brave for saying "bring 'em on" thousands of miles from harm's way.

yes he did, because he wasn't bright enough to come up with a winning plan of his own......however, he should have asked Bush to update his plan for him when circumstances changed........

Yeah, I'm sure that's it.

Partisans will be partisan. The history on Iraq is basically written at this point. Most people get it.

Anyway.....The world has never been safer......

July 2016 was the “deadliest July in 10 years” for heavily gun-controlled Chicago: Sixty-five individuals were shot and killed.

This brings Chicago’s homicide total to “nearly 400” for the first seven months of 2016 alone. The number of homicides for the whole year of 2015 was 490.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear Obama say, "Well, safer is as safer does", next........

Sounds like they need more community organizing.

Partisans will be partisan.

Indeed they will lol.

You've offered very little on this thread except for Bush apologism.

I assume you supported the invasion of Iraq. So, let's just start there. That basically disqualifies you from any foreign policy discussion going forward.

But, let's just get your opinion, anyway. How long do you think we'd need to have kept a fighting force in Iraq to ensure that the vacuum Bush created did not allow for the formation & development of extremist, anti-American groups?

The notion that ISIS is all Bush's fault is an absolute claim. Avoid absolute claims if you don't want to lose debates and/or come off as a partisan hack.

We should have done like Bush said, and waited till the military advisors gave it the all clear. How long?

However long it would take. Had Obama/Clinton not jacked-up Syria and Libya, its plausible that we could have gradually scaled down our efforts in Iraq. But we'll never know because none of it turned out that way.

I love the baseless speculation.

Honesty test: how long did you think it would take in 2003?

Yep.

They would have called him a traitor & boycotted him in '03. Now, they're voting for him.

They might have called him a traitor and boycotted him in '98 after this speech.....

But why speculate about what we will never know....it ain't '98

Why?

What did that speech do? Did it put troops on the ground? Did it put us in Iraq for 10 years? Did it destabilize the region?

The speculation is inescapable. For example you'd speculate we'd be there forever---if only you could prove it lol.

I don't remember but I'll guess and say a number of years.
