The truth is that before Bush, Iran was very westernized. The women went to school, worked outside the home, drove, and wore clothes of their choosing. Religions take countries back in time. They harm education. Christianity is capable of doing the same.

It was raped by America who installed the shah, removing a democratically elected leader. The Brit and American oil companies wanted a bribable and controllable leader. It was raped before the Shah by us throwing out a leader and installing the Shah.

As always you never get anything right! The Brits and the Americans were very worried that the Soviet Union would just move in and take everything lock stock and barrel. You are like so many lefties, you can only use Presentism to interpret historical events. Mohammad Mosaddegh was many things but he was not a great democrat, not sure anybody could be in the post war turmoil in the Middle East.

Why don't you apportion blame to the French who gave Khomeini a safe haven in Paris for all those years, never heard a lefty yet that even mentions that fact!
