What's the point? You've offered proof of laws and PmP ridicules and dismisses them. He knows Santorum is a conservative and he knows Santorum had a large conservative following but in his ignorance and stupidity he refuses to acknowledge the obvious concerning birth control/contracaptives vis-a-vis conservatives.

What I'm wondering is if this could all be due to him, in the past, having suffered a concussion due to a forceful ass-kicking. :dunno:

Yet he never once proposed or supported a law to make contraception illegal.

Which is why I wrote, "They would if they could." Santorum may be crazy but he's no fool. If he ever mentioned his intention to do so he would have been out of the race a long time ago.

If I recall there was another conservative (maybe it was Santorum himself) who noted that while Presidents make decisions based on the Constitution and advice from advisors there will be times when a decision is based on ones beliefs. Most people take their beliefs into consideration even if they may not be able to directly act on them.

We see the constant eroding of abortion rights, be it mandatory examinations or changing conception dates. We know such laws against contraceptives were in effect in the past. In post #102 \\()// wrote, “Griswold v. Connecticut, 381 U.S. 479 (1965),was a landmark case in which the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the Constitution protected a right to privacy. The case involved a Connecticut law that prohibited the use of contraceptives.” I wonder if 1965 is included in PmP’s definition of “ever”.

For anyone to suggest the idea of prohibiting contraceptives is "impossible, never happen, no one would even consider it" is either naive or deliberately lying. It has happened and Presidential candidates have openly stated their opposition to them. Like abortion, there are those who have nothing better to do than sit around and think of ways to obstruct and ultimately destroy women's rights.

Presidential candidates have expressed their opposition. Laws have been passed and put in force prohibiting contraceptives in the past. It's claimed the Bible prohibits interference in reproduction and there's no lack of so-called Christians who believe in the Bible. So, what would the "average" person think?

Today, there may not be an obvious way to prohibit contraceptives but that does not mean there aren't people thinking of ways to do exactly that.

Did you listen to what \\()// posted regarding Santorum and contraceptives? It was a more than "I just don't think it's right." Sounds like he ties the destiny of humanity to it! :whoa:

lol....you never HAVE debated the topic......you're only interested in my office....

You can try to change the subject and weasel your way out but you are still a liar and act like a spoiled brat. I would suggest you change your attitude before someone else comes along and smacks your ass. Unless, of course, you like it. Not much surprises me concerning you.

Well, actually, yes he did. His statement included the qualification that the birth control have no action on a 'fertilized egg'...that would cut into a lot of different methods of birth control. He's parsing when he says he's for birth control and his list of methods includes things that would be banned as abortion causing. So in fact...he would ban birth control. I tried to get him to do some reading and educate himself on this issue but that won't happen...

besides abortion and one type of morning after pill, name one..

IUD for instance..you need to do some research.

the vast majority of birth control methods prevent fertilization.....if, in the remote circumstance, a law should pass declaring fertilized eggs (as opposed to conception) marks personhood, the vast majority of birth control methods would be unaffected........
