So far, Putin appears to be resisting war hawks from going the nuclear route, which I think is the best option, but I can just imagine Ukraine or one of its western allies doing something similar again and at some point Putin deciding it is in fact the best course of action...

I think we need to differentiate between the men in Ukraine doing the fighting and dying and the men in Ukraine sending them off to the front. I think -everyone- has choices, and they're certainly not always to fight- some Ukrainian men have migrated to other countries to avoid doing the fighting and dying thing. As for your average guy resisting going to the front -within- Ukraine, that can actually result in death or severe impairment anyway, as the following article gets into:

No, getting Ukrainians to act against their interests in keeping them acting against their interests is the mission of the Wall Street Mafia/CIA and it is accomplished as it always is: America flooding the zone with money that only goes to those who comply, the society wide brainwashing programs again paid for with American money and directed by Empire experts, and chaos and threat of chaos if the Imperial Empire decide that there is not enough compliance. I don't think we actually disagree on anything here, I'm just saying that people have choices even in difficult situations. It's just that for some Ukrainians, whether they die on the front or die from getting beaten up because they refuse to go to the front, the results are somewhat similar.
I am objecting to your claims of the brainwashed and dominated being free agents just as I am objecting to your claims that Ukraine does this or that when Ukraine does not exist outside of being an arm of the Imperial Empire.......which you do as you watch Ukraine being destroyed and Ukrainians feed themselves into meat grinders in the Imperial Empire mission of weakening Russia....a project that the Empire long ago admitted that it is conducting.

So you're suggesting that it's all the "Empire's" fault then? I mean, I certainly think that the U.S. has played a very large role in what's happening in Ukraine, but I don't think that this absolves the Ukrainian leadership from the decisions they're making.
The so called (because it is a fraud) Ukrainian leadership has been picked by outsiders for over a decade.....even the election of Z and the parliament has been rigged by lies, money, and Empire directed messaging.
As the Russians say that the Kiev Regime has to go dont forget that they have from the jump said that they are not at war with Ukrainians.....Their enemy is the Imperial Empire.
Kiev is run by the Empire.....the Empire has to go....Ukraine is a part of the Russian Near Abroad.

Sure, but that still doesn't absolve said leadership from the decisions they're making.
I said at several points that the decisions are not made in Kiev.....that they are is Empire created illusion.
Likewise the military decisions are not made by Ukrainians, the Ukrainian officers execute the orders they are given by their bosses, mostly American, UK and French generals.....this explains why they are so wasteful of Ukrainian lives (they dont give a fuck about meat grinder meat)....that so many on the lines are dying because of "bad" orders is something Ukrainians have been talking a lot about recently.

I don't think it's quite as clear cut as you think it is. I think we can agree that Zelensky's Ukrainian administration will never be more than a wannabe American NATO henchman, but even a henchman makes decisions.
Only the trivial is decided by them...their bosses deploy the carrots and sticks as required to make sure compliance is achieved.

Well, Zelensky certainly made a bit of a row in the Oval Office not too long ago, but I agree that while he's not always perfectly managed, he is managed.
