But the main point I was making was a charismatic leader who wanted to be a dictator, who no one took seriously enough. Did America collapse? No.
Did a war start? No.
Trump tried to bully an election - and failed...the system worked.
And EVERY politician wants total power. Why would they not?

America came pretty close to collapsing. And this is about 2024. In case you haven't noticed - election deniers are winning elections & nominations all over the country. Trump is putting people in place who can do what he wasn't able to do the last time around.

He absolutely is "putting people in place." And he did not SUCCEED in 2020 in getting an election result to change, despite exhaustive & unprecedented efforts to do so.

Which is why he's putting people in place for '24 - so he CAN succeed next time.
