Meanwhile, in our "blue" state, we went shopping throughout the pandemic. We went out to eat as soon as things opened again. We traveled out of state, by car and by plane. We wore masks because it was required and because it made sense to protect ourselves and others. We got vaxxed as soon as they were available. We did not live in fear, we did not die, and life was fairly close to normal. Oh, and we didn't need to take any of that truly experimental RNA-modifying antiviral stuff either. We each had COVID at least once (as evidenced by testing) post-vax, and recovered w/o incident. The URIs we got from the grands this past April were far worse!

Many people refused the jab. The anti-Vaxxers at the shop I used to work with didn't require me to wear a mask when I came near them, but I did. One of them even told me to take off. I took it off, because I didn't want to offend her, but even though I'm vaxxed, if she isn't and I have a slight case, I could possibly infect her. She was stupid.

It's sad that the Covid vaccine blew up into such unnecessary controversy.

My kids had to be vaxxed, several types of vaxxes or they couldn't go to school, as I did before them. The reason the Covid became such a controversy is because trump and other MAGAs saw it as an opportunity to be shitheads and deny science. They felt that a few thousand people dying was no big deal as long as business could stay open, and his economy made to appear booming. That's what it was all about. trump felt Covid measures threatened his approval ratings and saw it as an opportunity to "own the libs".
