That's the question we all need to ponder, isn't it?
Sure is. And it is awful that we have been put in this position. There truly is no GOOD answer.

There are some problems with your attempt to read the US Constitution.
When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside...
1. Trump was no longer the President as of Jan 20, 2021. The Chief Justice only presides for a President. Trump is not President so this does not apply. Your argument ignores the reality of who is President and therefore ignores what the meaning of the US Constitution. Any honest reading of this text would show that anyone that is not the current President is being tried it doesn't require the Chief Justice.
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
2. Trump is not President so the penalty of being removed from office doesn't apply. This statement nowhere claims that only those people listed can be impeached. It only gives us the penalty someone holding office must receive if convicted. Since Trump is not a President the section doesn't apply since he can't be removed from office.
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
3.You don't get to ignore the subject of a sentence when trying to interpret the meaning of the sentence. Judgement is the subject of the sentence. That judgement is then modified to say it can't be further than a total of 2 options. There is no requirement that both options occur. There is also no requirement that even one of the options has to occur.
Meanwhile you completely ignore this part of the US Constitution -
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.
We are left with the word "all" here which has a very specific meaning which is pretty easy to understand. It means the Senate has the power to try each and every impeachment. There is no exception for impeachments where the person impeached is no longer in office.
It seems you do have difficulty with language and words.
Words and phrases that you can't seem to understand - "President", "shall not extend further than", and "all."
I am afraid. Very afraid. I know what I am capable of and what I have done for my country in the past. Do you think I want to carry anything more around with me? I have plenty enuff as it is.
In other words, you are wound as tight as a spring, and you will go off and probably commit violence on a family member. I know the type.
That impeachment and trial by elected politicians is only for office holders, otherwise the correct process is indictment and trial by a judge or jury.
I know,... but damn...I dont want to see ANYBODY get hurt. And THAT is the problem. They use our own goodness against us.
President Trump was impeached while in office. Nothing unconstitutional about holding trial after office.
If you even survive, you should be afraid of the big guy being your friend in prison.![]()

Nothing has happened,...hopefully it wont...ever. But In the unlikely event I am ever in prison,...." Bubba should be afraid of me,..if he's smart. And not for any weird rape reasons either.
Yes there is because it's part of the same process, as stated plainly three times now.

There was no "good answer" in 1775, either.
You're even dumber than people give you credit forIMO the upper level D's are scared shitless that enuff evidence will come out so that in the end the election still has a possibility of being overturned.
You're brave.![]()

IMO the upper level D's are scared shitless that enuff evidence will come out so that in the end the election still has a possibility of being overturned. Since it is being conducted by the senate and the sitting President has nothing to do with it " because an unlawful POTUS actions would be null",..a guilty verdict would stand , thus making the possibility of the true and rightful POTUS returning to the Whitehouse,... null and void. Dont tell me this is about 2024....THATS BULLSHIT. That is an eternity in politics. The impeachment sham in NO WAY is about 24,....it is about RIGHT FRIKKIN NOW.
