The Tory voters who will decide who will be temporary Prime Minister, before the byelection, are heavily white, and more likely to be male. But the candidates they are picking from are actually diverse. Of the 12 finalists, only half were white, and half were women; that was also true among the last two also. There was at least one homosexual. The highest finishing straight white male was in fifth place.
Rishi Sunak came in second place. Both his parents were Indians born in Africa. His wife is an Indian citizen, and not even trying to be a British citizen. One of Sunak's jobs would have been to advice the King on Church of England matters, even though he is Hindus...
