Which is why they are swing states, but swing states change with the times. Both Texas and Florida are purple which is why the Republican governments of both states moved so quickly to redistrict and secure their hold on their respective states despite having a minority of votes.
Notice that the divide in the US isn't so much Left and Right but Urban and Rural. The Blue areas in Texas are cities. Notice that, there are more red counties, but the popular vote is close to even.
The $64 question is; does Texas expect their cities to grow or shrink? The answer is obvious; grow.

This communist revolution has been in the works for about 70 years, impoverishing states/counties that hold to tradition American values has been a part of the plan to grab and power in exactly the same way as their multi decade effort to destroy Southern culture. Correlation doesn't necessarily mean causation, but I can easily find alternatives to which party runs a state to use. There is a strong correlation between minority population and poverty in a state. That's a better measure than which political party runs the state. The two worst off in many ways are Louisiana and New Mexico. Both have been under Democrat control for decades, both have high percentages of minority population, and both are fucked up like a soup sandwich.

The counter to that would be California which is maybe half white and has arguably the most wealth in the country. New York is maybe 35% minority and would also be one of the wealthiest states.

But that wealth is accumulated among mostly a small minority and corporations, not the public in general. One should note the top map showing the wealthiest states are low population and predominantly White and Asian. What that shows is high population states like Cali and NY are in poor shape, propped up more by location making them favored by corporations and the uber rich rather than because their population as a whole are well off.

He didn’t say Texas was among the highest crime rate he said it was among the poorest states. He didn’t provide a link so I don’t know where the data came from but nothing I’ve seen has indicated Texas is among the poorest states.
