The Supreme Court faces an existential crisis of legitimacy

SCOTUS is loaded with Republican appointees.

What legitimacy does it have to lose?

It's a global laughing stock already.

You don't get to speak for everyone in the world. You only get to speak for you. Omniscience fallacy. Further, it doesn't matter what the world thinks of the Supreme Court or the United States.

Good point. Survival of the fittest. Everyone in high school should be armed.

Not everyone needs to be, but you cannot prevent anyone from being armed.

It is not about 'survival of the fittest'. Straw man fallacy. Most people are good people. They far outnumber bad people with guns. There are far more good guys with guns than bad guys with guns.

actually a lot of truth in that.

the wild west wasnt really THAT wild.
people were a lot more polite when they knew you were prepared.
our current society could stand to rediscover polite and abandon woke.

Quite right. Even the gangs and outlaws had to stay in hiding...for a reason.

Rowe is based on a clear standard. Even you should be able to understand it. Under Roe, women have a Constitutional right to an abortion at any time before the fetus becomes viable for life outside the womb, defined as 24 weeks from conception. The Roberts court seems poised to abolish that standard, without creating a new one, meaning Roe will be effectively repealed and states can do what they want.

The Supreme Court never had any authority to make that ruling. They do not have authority to change the Constitution.

Homicide is homicide, regardless of whether it's 0 weeks or 24 weeks or any other time.

The only way for that is that they cannot try for another term after their 10 years is up. A lifetime appointment was supposed to keep them above and out of politics., So rightys like the Federalist society ,follow their careers from college onward tracking what they said all the way. They do not permit a Repub choice to wander from their standards. Any Repub nominee has to meet a purity test, and they lie like hell through the process. They gave us some bad choices.
Many of those they gave to Trump for federal judges were rejected by the bar assoc for being unqualified.

You do not need to be a member of the Bar to be a judge.

It means if the Mississippi judgment is upheld the viability standard established by Rowe will be out the window and states will have either a freer hand in limiting abortion or the right to ban it completely, subject to any
special circumstances the Court might impose such as rape or incest.

The Supreme Court has no authority to change the Constitution. The cannot write legislation. They have NO authority over forcing any abortion law on any State, nor impose any special conditions.
