Ask Bill Clinton about that.
They're still investigating him? Why, he must be guilty of something. Right?

You're saying the government can investigate you for the rest of your life and the POTUS is powerless to ever put an end to it, regardless of no evidence found.
Meh. I heard it was the Macedonians, anyway.
They can investigate you as long as there is reasonable suspicion and a reasonable possibility of finding evidence. But common sense dictates that at some point, any investigation becomes pointless if nothing is found and, the manpower and resources required to continue cease to be cost effective, so the investigative authority will draw it to a close and move on to other matters.
Very simple if you actually put forth the effort required to think about it.
The POTUS is your ultimate investigative authority. He wins.
Your reasoning is specious and your "logic" is pretzelian.
If the investigation is impeded prior to it's conclusion, there can be no reasonable knowledge or evidence that there were or weren't misdeeds committed to begin with. If that knowledge is not allowed to be found and proven to a reasonable doubt, then justice has been obstructed by whoever impeded the investigation.
In this case, that would of course, be Trump.
Steely Dan made an album of that kind of logic.
What has been obstructed?
