The rich-poor gap in America is obscene. So let's fix it – here's how

The United States cannot prosper and remain a vigorous democracy when so few have so much and so many have so little. While many of my congressional colleagues choose to ignore it, the issue of income and wealth inequality is one of the great moral, economic and political crises that we face – and it must be dealt with.

The unfortunate reality is that we are moving rapidly toward an oligarchic form of society, where a handful of billionaires have enormous wealth and power while working families have been struggling in a way we have not seen since the Great Depression. This situation has been exacerbated by the pandemic.

An oligarchy like the one wielded by bezos zuckerberg and gates twitter google etc? Like that you mean?

the Elite Class has been running the world economy for thousands of years, the poor and disenfranchised are here to stay unfortunately

"We need to do what virtually every other major country does by guaranteeing healthcare to all people as a human right. Passing a Medicare for All program would end the absurdity of us paying twice as much per capita for healthcare as do the people of other countries, while tens of millions of Americans are uninsured or under-insured."

The wealth gap is one of the worst threats to the continuation of America. A rapid redistribution of wealth is not a peaceful operation. The wealth gap is worse than the Gilded Age and only getting worse and worse. Eventually, the masses figure it out, not the rightys though.

In case you didn't know, that's not how America is supposed to be.

Lobbying is legal bribery and bribing politicians was never supposed to be legal.

However, those that made the laws made it that way in the 80s.

I've been a cynic ever since I watched Reagan destroy the middle class and GWB destroy the Middle East

doesn't mean good people can't help each other out as best they can, but we're talking human nature here. always been this way

You are not only the dumbest person on the forum, but you are the biggest asshole.

That doesn't changed how fucking moronic you are. The left in this country is a cancer. Your wrinkled up colostomy bag of a leader piglosi is more evil than the talking pig in a pant suit and poor imbecile joe does what Nance tells him. You people are fucking filth

Not sure if it's you or katzgar. I know it's one of you two.

I'll go with it's you; Because believe it or not, occasionally katzgar abandons the botness and types something actually sentient.

Bernie is one of America's greatest and most underappreciated patriots.
I don't know how many Jewish Americans have been canonized, but he'll certainly be the next one.

It's a shame that too many Americans lacked the vision and sophistication to back him in 2016 and 2020.
We've obviously got a long way to go to catch up with modern, progressive nations who've clearly left us behind.
But whatever Bernie has to offer now, we should be paying strict attention.
