When Communists and sympathizers made excuses for Stalin's terror, they said, "You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs." To which George Orwell responded, "Where's the omelet?"

Five wealthy people, led by Dallas industrialist Harold Simmons and Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, have donated nearly $1 of every $4 flowing to the super PACs raising unlimited money in this year's presidential race.

Those donations have helped new Republican-leaning outside groups swamp Democratic-friendly super PACs in fundraising...

Simmons, a billionaire who pumped $3 million into "Swift Boat" ads in 2004 challenging Democrat John Kerry's Vietnam War record, is the largest super PAC donor of the 2012 election, the analysis shows. He and his holding company, Contran, gave $12 million to American Crossroads, a super PAC affiliated with Republican strategist Karl Rove. He donated $2.2 million more to three super PACs supporting Republican presidential candidates.

In the No. 2 slot: Adelson and his wife, Miriam, who gave $10 million to Winning Our Future, a super PAC aiding former House speaker Newt Gingrich. Adelson said he is willing to donate an additional "$10 million or $100 million" to aid Gingrich. Adelson, who operates the Venetian, a massive Las Vegas resort, along with casinos in Singapore and Macau, said his goal is to defeat President Obama.

No Democratic donors rank as high as the top donors to Republican super PACs.

So you aprove of unlimited donations?

Only to Republicans, perhaps.

Notice that he claims "when super PACs were heavily out donating to democrats, super PACs were cool."

Who said that, SmarterThanFew?

no, I do not approve of unlimited donations, however, my post wasnt about that. I was pointing out the hypocrisy in legions post because nobody saw him in here decrying the donations of unions to democrat campaigns.

So democrats suk balls while on their knees just not as good as republicans.
Democrats collect unemployment more than republicans. Is today captain obvious news flash day?

when super PACs were heavily out donating to democrats, super PACs were cool. but now.........well they should be illegal.

Unlimited giving to political campaigns should be eliminated by a constitutional amendment

I do not care who gets the money, just stop the obscene flow and limit giving to citizens up to a % of the GDP to keep it from becoming too little or too much

Not going to happen, I suspect.

We have the best government the wealthy can buy themselves.
