With the money from the end of the Bush Tax Cuts, ending all tax loopholes for the rich and business, and ending the two wars!

The GOP version:

Everyone who paid taxes got a tax cut with the Bush tax cut. So bascially you're saying all the Americans who pay taxes are going to be paying more taxes to pay for a rail system. I don't think so.

Yes lets piss away billions of dollars on a train, liberals would like us all to forget that we can all hop on an airplane and be anywhere in the United States a lot quicker and cheaper. Nor do they mention the fact that it will do nothing to ease traffic congestion, prime example is the plan for California.

Did you even watch the video?
The travel time would be competitive, yet safer, the cost lower, and the impact upon the enviroment only 1/4 that of air travel.

Our infrastructure is in desperate need of updating and repair.

We can either do it now or spend more later. And waiting will mean more problems, costs, and safety issues.

It's funny, to my mind, that your forbears in the 1950s were so worried about the missile gap. That proved to be an illusion and ephemeral, yet a real technology gap is just considered to be a liberal plot by wankers like you.
