The Republican attempt to censure Adam Schiff was a flop

Republican attempts at getting revenge on the Biden administration — and other Democrats — don’t seem to be faring so well these days.

This week, House Republicans had their latest flop in the form of a resolution to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) over his role in pushing an investigation into former President Donald Trump and his 2016 campaign’s potential ties to Russia. In a 225-196 vote, the House voted to table this resolution on Wednesday evening, effectively killing it.

What a bunch of asswipes. Sorry, all I can come up with.

20 House Republicans voted to block resolution to censure Adam Schiff

Twenty House Republicans joined Democrats on Wednesday in voting to table a resolution to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), breaking from the majority of the GOP conference on a measure that was backed by leadership.

The House voted 225-196-7 to effectively kill the measure, which was spearheaded by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.). It called for censuring and condemning Schiff “for conduct that misleads the American people in a way that is not befitting an elected Member of the House of Representatives.”

When even some Republicans voted against the censure, you know the attempt was totally cray cray.

The GOP is Lucy....pulling the football away.

I think Schiff is a rather good Congressman.
He's from the same state as McCarthy who pretty much sucks.

When I travel, I like to stick to the tourist attractions and avoid the local culture.
It's sort of a Forrest Gump / chocolate thing when one mingles with locals.

Charged twice, the impeachment part failed however.

No Sir- The HOUSE IMPEACHED DONALD TRUMP TWICE!

Just as the HOUSE Impeached Bill Clinton!

That cannot be removed, just because the Senate chose not to remove Trump or Bill Clinton from office- after being impeached.

You need to take a simple American Government 101 class!

Or read- American Government For Dummies book with Cliff notes! :palm:

Well, Gecko, the impeachment can be removed.

A new House resolution would retroactively reverse and expunge Trump’s 2019 impeachment charges.
Would that even be allowed? Nothing in the Constitution explicitly precludes Congress from taking an impeachment back, although neither of the two other House-impeached presidents in history — Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton — saw their charges expunged. But there is an arguable precedent from 1837, when the Senate in 1837 officially reversed their earlier 1834 censure of President Andrew Jackson.
