Probably, but it would have been even closer. I suspect the statisticians, pollsters and other interested parties will be studying all the variables in the past three elections for decades to come.
There's no doubt in my mind that many doctorates will be written about not only Trump's rise to power and his eventual demise, but how White Christian Nationalism boosted him into the White House.
